Her Voice privacy policy
Effective October 7, 2026
Her Voice is now Daymint. This policy covers versions of the Her Voice app before 3.0. For Daymint, see the Daymint privacy policy.
Her Voice is an iPhone journal. You write entries, or speak and Her Voice turns your speech into text. This policy covers the Her Voice app and the website at joinhervoice.com.
Short version: Her Voice is not a private, on-device, or end-to-end encrypted journal. What you write or say is stored on our servers and processed by outside service providers, including AI providers. People who run Her Voice can access it. Don't put anything in Her Voice that you aren't comfortable with on those terms.
What we collect
- Account details. When you sign in with Apple or Google, our sign-in provider shares your name and email address (or Apple's private relay address) with us.
- Journal content. Entries you write, audio you record, the text made from it, titles, edits, and anything else you add to an entry.
- Your answers. Responses to questions in the app, such as onboarding questions, check-ins, and feedback.
- Purchases. Subscription status and Apple transaction identifiers. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details.
- Usage and device data. Screens and features you use, app version, device model, operating system, language, approximate location derived from your IP address, and crash reports.
- Notifications. If you turn on notifications, a push token so we can send reminders and offers.
How we use it
- To run the journal: save and sync entries, turn speech into text, create titles, search, recaps, and answers to questions you ask about your journal.
- To provide support, fix problems, and keep the service secure.
- To understand how Her Voice is used and improve it. Members of the Her Voice team may review journal content and answers, for example to investigate a problem or to see how the app is used.
- To send notifications and emails you've agreed to receive.
- To measure and improve our advertising, as described below.
We don't sell your journal content.
Service providers
Your audio and text, along with other data above, are sent to providers that help run Her Voice. Current providers include xAI and AssemblyAI (speech recognition), Google Gemini (formatting, titles, recaps, and answers), Railway (hosting and database), Clerk (sign-in), PostHog (product analytics), Google Firebase (analytics and crash reporting), Loops (email), Meta (advertising measurement), and Apple (purchases and notifications).
Each provider handles data under its own terms, including how long it keeps data and whether it uses data to improve its own services. We don't control those practices and can't guarantee them.
Advertising measurement
The app uses software from Meta and Google to tell those companies when certain things happen in the app: installing or opening it, creating an account, finishing onboarding, starting or completing a purchase, saving an entry, and reaching a number of entries or journaling days. These events don't include your journal text, audio, titles, or answers. Meta and Google use them to measure and improve our ads and may combine them with other information they hold under their own policies.
The app doesn't ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, and doesn't receive your device's advertising identifier (IDFA).
Retention and deletion
We keep your account and journal data while your account exists. Deleting an entry in the app removes it from your journal and from our main database. Copies may remain for a period in backups, logs, and our providers' systems.
In the latest version of the app, you can delete your account and the journal data stored with it: open Settings and tap Delete account. This deletes your account, your journal entries, and your voice recordings from our main database and storage, and removes them from the device you use. You can also email [email protected] from the email address on your account and we'll delete it for you. As with deleted entries, copies may remain for a period in backups, logs, and our providers' systems.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your Apple subscriptions. We keep records of App Store purchases, no longer linked to your account, for accounting.
Security
We use common safeguards such as encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, and your journal is not end-to-end encrypted.
Children
Her Voice is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to address it.
Website analytics
The website at joinhervoice.com uses Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement tags. They record page views, clicks to the App Store, campaign parameters (such as utm_source, gclid, gbraid, and wbraid), and browser and device information, and may use cookies or local storage to do so. We use this to measure our marketing. You can clear cookies or use privacy tools in your browser to limit it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Her Voice changes. We'll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
